THE CHATEAU

The vines have been cultivated in the village of Haux since the roman era.

The Château was built in 1510 by an equerry of the king Francois 1er. The chateau is registered of the national historic monument thanks to its history and its original architecture.Th

Nowadays, the Douence‘s family associates modernity with tradition, to judiciously apply new scientific methods with nature and the elements.  Winemaking has been our passion for four generations, our wines are high-quality and accessible to all wine-lovers looking to be pleasantly surprised” Michel Douence.

                                                                           THE QUALITY

The quality of its wine depends partly on the type of grapes variety that is being used, but also on the exceptional combination of natural elements (Geography, Geology and Microclimates) that constitute its “terroir”.

The hilly landscape where the vineyard is located provides a veritable patchwork of soils and subsoils, forming a rich and diverse ensemble. Located at altitudes of over 300 metres, the plots benefit from generous sunshine and optimal ventilation.
